The miles end in Marshalltown, where the fun begins! As an overnight host town, we’re bringing the community together for live music, local talent, great food, and unforgettable experiences. Whether you’re looking to relax, catch your favorite band, or celebrate with fellow riders, you’ll find something for everyone throughout town.

From afternoon performances to a lively main stage and entertainment around the community, Marshalltown is ready to keep the energy going long after the last rider arrives.

SSG Nate Howard Tribute Flagpole Installation with National Anthem Rendition

  • 5:00pm-6:00pm This day of RAGBRAI will be dedicated to SSG Nate Howard and be called Nate Howard Day. SSG Nate Howard was killed in action in December of 2025 in Syria. Veteran Flagpole Initiative will be accompanied by 1/113 CAV, SSG Howard’s unit, by transferring a flag from Boone to Marshalltown on the RAGBRAI route. Upon arrival in Marshalltown, SSG Howard’s unit will run the flag from the Freedom Rock to his parent’s house at 206 Sunset Lane. There will be an installation of a permanent 20 foot telescopic flagpole for the family in their son’s honor. There will be a rendition of the national anthem to follow. The public is welcome to attend.
